Remembering Keith Young, the Firehouse Chef

Keith Young, Firehouse Chef, Newsday

As we continue our journey of carrying on our dad, Keith Young’s, legacy we’re thinking about the impact he made on the lives of everyone who knew him. While we’re thrilled to have introduced him to millions of people thanks to Shark Tank, there was so much more to him that we hope to share with you.

The outpouring of support and interest in his Cup Board Pro is humbling and beyond anything we could have imagined. Many of you know him as the Firehouse Chef, but he was also an amazing dad, dedicated husband, and loyal friend. He was also unbelievably funny as anyone who knew him would tell you. In fact, many people have taken the opportunity to tell us that. If you’re just meeting our family, we want to take you back to how this journey of ours started.

Our dad was called home to heaven just a few months before the taping of Shark Tank. The amount of love we were shown during his memorial service and after helped give us the strength to carry on bringing his dream to reality. Hundreds, including so many from the FDNY, came to pay their respects and help celebrate his life. Newsday ran a nice story full of quotes from the people who knew him well that we’ve linked to below. There’s also a video so you can see it for yourself. We hope to show just how much our dad impacted the life of everyone who knew him.
